Dr. Gurgen Petrossian, LL.M. (Heidelberg) is a senior researcher and head of FAU’s International Criminal Law Research Group. He teaches international criminal law in the M.A. programme. His own research interests focus on international criminal law, international law, international human rights law and international criminal procedural law. From 2016 to 2019 he was the co-organizer of the international competition “Nuremberg Moot Court”.

Before joining FAU 2016, Gurgen was a research fellow at the International Nuremberg Principles Academy with a focus on sexual violence in armed conflict. He has working experience in the state as well as the non-state sector.

Gurgen serves as Chairman of German-Armenian Lawyers’ Association.
