On Monday, October 17th the new 2022/2023 batch was welcomed to the programme with an orientation and get-together with the staff. The students received an introduction to the programme and had several activities to get to know the university and city throughout the week.
The students also had the opportunity to meet and discuss with Dr. Harsh Mander, an internationally renowned human rights expert from India and recipient of FAU’s Human Rights Award.
The orientation programme ended with the annual The Way of Human Rights (Straße der Menschenrechte) Tour. An alumnus of the MA Human Rights, Maximilian Deinlein, guided the tour for the new students. The various Universal Declaration of Human Rights articles were read in Arabic, Quechua Aymara, German, Kurdish, Portuguese, Turkish, and Dutch by the diverse group of students.
The students come from all over the world, and for the first time we have students from Ecuador, Georgia, Lebanon, the Netherlands, and Peru.
We are excited to welcome all our new students to FAU!
